I wanted to take this chance to welcome AWC's newest student chapter at Texas State. Today I met with officers Aubri and Sophie to connect them to our San Antonio Professional Chapter. Their first meeting will be on August 3rd. Congrats Texas State Chapter!

Meet the Pros to be held in October

As always, we will be hosting our Meet the Pros at SAC for students in October. This year, you may sign up online - cash only at the door. Details to come.

The AWC National Conference in Seattle
The AWC National Conference will be held October 15-17 in Seattle. In the future, I would love to see our students able to attend such a national event! I was told that a group of four was eligible for discounted price. Fundraisers, anyone? :) More info here.

AWC Planning Retreat
The AWC San Antonio Board met up on June 27th. Also invited were the UTSA Student Chapter President, Nicole Vasquez, and Vice President, Alejandra Amaro.
This year, we are celebrating 100 years of AWC! Our Centennial Celebration will be held in September; details to come soon. This should be a big event. We also plan to create many workshop and monthly programs centered around a theme for Social and New Media for business.
Topics will include Ted Conference Techniques, Social Media, and Tools and Applications. We even have our very own "Social Media Breakfast Boot Camp" set in place later this fall.
